We're talking breakfast not brunch, a Dubai weekend ritual (although the same could be said for brunch, but that's an article for another day). And Dubai's cafes do breakfast like no other, from traditional Emirati cuisine to Michelin recommended French Viennoiserie. Whether you’re an early riser or prefer a leisurely start to your day, these tried and tested spots make sure that breakfast isn’t just the most important meal of the day, it’s the most enjoyable one as well.
Here’s your guide to Dubai’s best breakfast cafes that guarantee great mornings.
The Grey
📍 Al Wasl
Locals know good coffee, and when you pull into a car park filled with G63s, Safaris and Patrols, you know you're getting good coffee. Located in the new hot spot of Al Wasl at the Safa Park end, The Grey ticks all the boxes. Sleek monochromatic interiors, check. Instagramable pastries made in house, check. Unique drink blends that taste amazing, check (butterscotch latte, hello). Uniquely designed around a central coffee serving bar with seating around the edges of the space, it's perfect for indulging in the the all day breakfast dishes including avocado yoghurt with granola and pineapple brulée, Turkish eggs or the kimchi breakfast bun with scrambled eggs, chorizo and smoked cheddar. It’s an Instagram-worthy spot that’s as stylish as it is delicious.

LOWE
📍 Al Barari
For those who love long, leisurely weekend mornings, LOWE is a gem. Known for its its sustainable credentials (it holds a Michelin Green Star) and creative, wood-fired dishes this spot serves up breakfast with an artistic flair. Don’t miss items like baked broken eggs in curried onion gravy and chickpea and za’atar flatbread with aged feta and coal fired mushrooms alongside the more traditional dishes of smashed avo and French toast. LOWE is the perfect place for those seeking something unique in a lush, green setting.

Bisou
📍 Dubai Opera
Don't let the fact that it's housed in the Dubai Opera House make you think it will be a lifeless, soulless cafe. It's dramatic interiors are inspired by by a love story between an Arabic poet and a French librarian resulting in a beautiful space with a grand sweeping staircase above which float white buttercup lanterns, that feels more like a private library than a Downtown cafe. The menu matches the interior with Arabic and French influences, croque madam with duck and truffle, salmon and caviar croquette and semifreddo with dates, raspberry and pistachio all of which can be accompanied by a glass of champagne for the perfect weekend breakfast.

Bombay Bungalow
📍 The Beach, JBR
Breakfast gets a bold and colorful twist at Bombay Bungalow. This beachfront eatery offers a modern and contemporary take on Indian dishes, perfect for breakfast by the sea. As expected their menu is full of flavour and our favourite dish might be the burrata butter chicken, combining creamy Italian burrata with the richness of the classic curry for one of the most interesting fusions we've ever tried.

Al Fanar Restaurant
📍 Multiple Locations
Experience authentic Emirati flavors at Al Fanar. This heritage rich restaurant serves up classics like shakshuka (served all day), while the mutton nashef offers a more traditional taste of Emirati breakfast. The vintage décor and traditional hospitality make it a cultural experience you can’t miss, we particularly love the Al Seef location, which makes you feel like you've stepped back in time in all the right ways.

The atmosphere alone featuring live bread-making and traditional music makes it worth the visit.
