Dubai’s love affair with luxury steakhouses is nothing new. The city is has seen a number of upmarket openings where steak is less of a meal and more of an event. So, with all that competition, how does yet another steakhouse stand out? Three Cuts, a recent addition to Palm Jumeirah’s dining scene, has the answer: go back to basics and get it exactly right.
Located on the rooftop of Nakheel Mall, but don't let that put you off, Three Cuts is the brainchild of father-and-son duo Joe and Jason Bassili, the same team behind Le Fumoir by Bassili (one of the best smoked salmon brands in the region). True to its name, the restaurant focuses on three premium cuts of beef, sirloin, tenderloin, and ribeye, alongside a small but well-curated menu of raw bar favorites, indulgent sides, and expertly crafted cocktails. The result? A steakhouse that’s unapologetically simple, refreshingly straightforward, and effortlessly chic.

First Impressions: Old-School Glamour Meets Laid-Back Cool
Step inside Three Cuts, and the first thing you’ll notice is the aesthetic. It’s a blend of old speakeasy vibes and modern refinement, with gold-trimmed booths, rich brown leather seating, deep emerald green walls, and striking Art Deco-inspired artwork by Christopher Cuseo. It feels sophisticated but not stuffy, elegant but still inviting and makes you totally forget that you're in a mall. Whether you’re here for date night, a business dinner, or just an catchup meal with friends, the space is designed to make you feel you're right where you belong. The bar is just as alluring, a moody, bougie space with soaring ceilings and stained-glass details, which reminds us very much of a cool, old converted church and makes it perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail or a nightcap.
If you're still wanting to make the most of Dubai's winter, the 100-seat outdoor terrace is a secluded, intimate space covered in fairy lights, candles and table lamps, making it the perfect spot for sunset drinks or a leisurely dinner under the stars. But the real surprise? A hidden speakeasy tucked away at the back, complete with retro disco décor and a DJ spinning funk, soul, and house beats until 3 AM.
Yes, this is a steakhouse with serious after-hours potential.
The Menu: Where Simplicity Meets Perfection
Let’s talk food, because after all, that's really why we're here. Three Cuts is all about quality over quantity, and the one-page menu reflects that perfectly. If you’re indecisive when it comes to long, complicated menus (we're very much in this camp), this is the place for you. Three Cuts strips away the unnecessary frills and focuses on what really matters: exceptional ingredients, precise cooking, and bold flavors.
The focus is on the three essential cuts of beef: sirloin, tenderloin, and ribeye, all prepared over a three-meter oakwood fire grill, using a mix of oak, olive, and compressed charcoal to give the meat that perfect smoky char. The chef’s selections feature indulgent cuts like Porterhouse steaks and Tomahawks for anyone who really wants to indulge.
Of course, it’s not all about steak, the raw bar serves up oysters, beef and salmon tartare, caviar and a seafood tower for those who want something a little lighter. For non-steak eaters (yes, they exist), the main menu also includes options including organic pan fried salmon, grilled shrimp, mushroom risotto, salt-crusted seabream, and charred chicken breast.
But let’s be real, you’re here for the steak.
What We Ordered: A Masterclass in Steakhouse Perfection
We started with the Wood-Charred Caesar Salad and the Warm Goat’s Cheese Salad, keeping it light in anticipation of our mains. Both are very generous portions with the combination of flavours satisfying enough to make the meal leisurely without feeling stuffed.
The Wood-Charred Caesar Salad is a bold take on the classic. Crisp romaine lettuce, lightly kissed by the grill, took on a subtle smokiness that paired beautifully with the creamy, umami-rich dressing. Topped with bacon crumble, smoked croutons and a mountain of shaved Parmesan, It was the kind of dish that proves sometimes, simple is best.
Next up, the Warm Goat’s Cheese Salad, a dish that effortlessly balances richness with freshness. The tangy, molten goat’s cheese was shaped into three breaded, hot delightful disks and balanced by grilled peach, orange segments and a honey rosemary dressing on a bed of lettuce leaves creating a mix of flavors and textures that felt indulgent but not heavy. It was the perfect harmony of sweet, salty, and creamy, the kind of salad you actually want to order.
For the main course, we went for the Ribeye Steak, a cut known for its rich marbling and bold flavor. Cooked to a perfect medium, it arrived with a beautifully seared crust, locking in juicy, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. Every bite was buttery, beefy, and bursting with umami, proving why ribeye remains a favorite among steak lovers. We paired it with triple cut fries, that had been given just as much thought as the steak, impossibly light and crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside and a Red Wine Sauce, which brought deep, velvety richness to the dish with just the right touch of acidity to cut through the fat.
For a lighter yet equally satisfying option, the Organic Pan-Fried Salmon was a standout. The salmon, cooked to a flawless medium, had a crispy, golden skin that gave way to silky, delicate flakes with a rich, almost buttery texture. Served alongside roasted baby potatoes, grilled broccolini and a lemongrass beurre blanc, it was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced, a dish that lets the quality of the ingredients shine without unnecessary frills.
Ahead of the dinner we had eye'd up desserts like a golden chocolate mousse, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate ganache but sadly we decide that we’re too full to fully appreciate them. But we’re already making plans to return.

What We Sipped: Cocktails with a Side of Elegance
No steakhouse should be without a creative cocktail menu and Three Cuts definitely delivers on this front. Whether you're starting with a pre-dinner sip at the bar or pairing your steak with something stronger, the cocktails here are a perfect part of the experience.
First up we tried the Holy Water, because how can you not with a name like that. A frozen blend of Pisco Quebranta and Lime Leaf Extract that’s as bold as its name suggests. Served in a vintage style coupe its smooth, sweet, icy, and packing a decent amount of punch, this one is for those who like their drinks crisp, clean, and bold.
Next up was the Momocello, a vibrant mix of Limoncello, Aperol, Crème de Pêche, and Prosecco. Refreshing and citrusy, this one is perfect for those who love a light, effervescent start to the evening. It’s the kind of cocktail that instantly transports you to the Amalfi Coast, even when you’re sitting in the middle of Dubai.
Finally, we tried the Three Sips, a beautifully balanced mix of gin, Nigori (a cloudy Japanese sake), and St~Germain. Floral, slightly creamy, and subtly sweet, it’s the kind of cocktail that sneaks up on you, light and delicate at first, but with layers of complexity that unfold with every sip.
Our Verdict: Is Three Cuts Worth It?
Dubai has plenty of fancy steakhouses, but Three Cuts does something different. It strips away the unnecessary excess, focuses on high-quality ingredients, and delivers an experience that’s both elevated and effortless.

The team knows their menu inside out, offering expert recommendations without the usual steakhouse snobbery. Whether you're debating between cuts, need a wine pairing, or just want a genuinely great dining experience, they make sure you feel looked after without ever being overbearing. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to linger just a little longer.
Whether you’re a die-hard steak lover, someone who appreciates great food without the pretension, or just looking for a fantastic new date night spot, Three Cuts is a must-visit.
And if you find yourself dancing in the speakeasy long after dinner, well… you’re not alone.
