It’s Saturday night, 6:30pm and I am showered and in a fresh pair of The White Company pyjamas, House of Dragon is on and I’m sipping a tropical magnisium with ice, its the perfect time for a sheet mask. I am a little controversial when it comes masks, the viral Biodance range is not my favourite and I’m still on the search for a morning eye mask that does more than just look silly. Tonight, I am trying a new one, the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Watergel Sheet Ampoule Mask, now the rest of the range I am a fan of and i’ll give an update at the end of writing this article, its probably enough time for it to soak in.
Dr.Jart+ Dermask Micro Jet Brightening Solution Sheet Mask
Probably my favourite mask that I have ever used. An hour with this on and my skin is brighter, smoother looking and just fresher all over. Its ingredients include Glutathione, an antioxidant that evens skin tone and targets dark spots and Niacinamide & α-Bisabolol, a duo that brightens skin, adds radiance and reduced hyperpigmentation. Its a facial in a packet, perfect for a special occasion and weekly skincare maintenance.
Biodance Hydro Cera-nol Real Deep Mask
I have seen everyone go crazy for these, and I honestly don’t know why. Not only does the mask have to stay on for 2-3 hours which makes me wonder has it soaked into my skin or just dried from the air around it. But when its finally peeled off, the results are meh. The main promoted ingredient is Cera-nol mean t for deep hydration and quick calming and enhanced by BIODANCE’s hydrogel technology which doesn’t really mean much. For the cost and the time spent, because you can’t really do anything whilst its on except maybe watch a film, there’s better masks out there.
MEDICUBE Kojic Acid Turmeric Brightening Gel Mask-Overnight Face Mask
How anyone wears a sheet mask to sleep in is beyond me so you can already guess I did not wear this overnight. But I did give it a few hours same as the Biodance and it delivered the same results. These jelly masks just don’t seem to be the same level as the microfibre ones. The ingredits are good, Kojic Acid, Turmeric, and Niacinamide meant to brighten and refine the skin tone but the delivery is most definitely lacking.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Watergel Sheet Ampoule Mask
And finally the results of the Skin1004. I really wanted to love this, I use a lot of the rest of the range, the Centella cleanser, the Centella Ampoule and the Centella Probio-Cica Essence Toner for a layer of extra hydration. I love them all they are a staple in my skincare line up, but I don’t love this. It’s ok, it doesn’t take forever to soak in but there’s not really that much change in the before and after. Its main ingredients are Centella, Glycerin and Chamomile which is supposed to soothe and hydrate the skin and I suppose it feels hydrated but its not a winner compared to the other products.
I feel like this is an excuse to turn it into a bit of a series, finding the perfect sheet mask. The Dr Jart gives many things a run for its money but I will do some public service and find the best of the best.
